This exhibition, with its theme of "the human body as the meeting place of science (medicine) and art," was made possible with the cooperation of the Wellcome Trust, the world's largest independent charity funding research into human health. Consisting of around 150 valuable medical artifacts from the Wellcome Collection and around 30 works of old Japanese and contemporary art, the exhibition presents an integrated vision of medicine and the arts, science and beauty. Tetsuya NOGUCHI will release a new work for this exhibition.

“BASARA” is coming!
Tetsuya NOGUCHI will participate “BASARA” exhibition in August. This exhibition focus "BASARA", with a spirit of defiance in gorgeous.
Curator of the exhibition is Japanese famous artist, Hisashi TENMYOUYA. He try to let us look towards other side of beauty that was not mentioned in long history of Japanese culture. BASARA is the antithesis of WABI and SABI which are popular words to describe traditional japanese beauty, but sprit of basara was succeeded by various people for a long time. Exhibition in which work such as odd armour, Tattoo, DEKOTORA（Decorated truck） and artist of various genres gather exceeding frame of art. Tetsuya NOGUCHI will present collaboration work with Hisashi TENMYOUYA.
